The library offers a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books to support learning, encourage curiosity and inspire students to become confident, independent readers. Our collection is continually updated so students always have access to fresh, engaging and age-appropriate texts.
Students enjoy regular library lessons that focus on research skills, digital literacy and reading for pleasure. The space also provides a quiet, comfortable environment for study, group work and enrichment activities.
With access to technology, online resources and a supportive staff, our library plays an important role in enhancing learning across all stages of the school.
We are proud to offer a space where every student can find a book they love, a topic to explore or simply a calm place to learn and grow.
Our School Kitchen
At Boorowa Central School, our kitchen is a hub of learning, creativity, and delicious experiences. Through programs like the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden, students from all year levels have the opportunity to develop practical cooking skills, explore healthy eating, and learn about food from paddock to plate.
The kitchen is fully equipped to provide hands-on experiences where students can prepare a variety of meals, experiment with recipes, and understand the importance of nutrition and sustainability. It’s more than just cooking – it’s about teamwork, confidence, and fostering a lifelong appreciation for good food.
Our dedicated staff guide students through every step, helping them to develop skills they can carry into their everyday lives while making learning fun and engaging.
Our Agricultural Plot and Garden
At Boorowa Central School, our agricultural plot and garden provide students with hands-on learning experiences that connect classroom knowledge to the natural world. Here, students grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs, learning about sustainable practices, plant care, and the science behind healthy soil and crops.
Our garden is more than just a place to grow plants — it’s a space for students to develop responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. From planting seeds to harvesting produce, students gain practical skills that complement their studies in science, technology, and environmental education.
The produce from our garden often finds its way into our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen program, giving students the full farm-to-table experience and helping them understand the value of fresh, homegrown food.
We’re proud to offer this living classroom where students can explore, experiment, and grow — just like the plants in our care.
Aurora College
Boorowa Central School partners with Aurora College to provide additional learning opportunities for our senior students. Aurora delivers specialist subjects through a virtual classroom model, allowing students to study courses that small schools may not be able to staff onsite.
Over the past two years, we have offered Senior Chemistry through Aurora College. We also provide access to Legal Studies and Physics, ensuring our students can pursue a broader range of academic pathways and interests.
Aurora College continues to be an invaluable resource, supporting high-quality learning and expanding subject choices for our senior students.
